If you aspire to be a medical assistant, you're taking a step in a promising direction. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the profession is expected to grow by about 30 percent between 2010 and 2020 -- meaning the job prospects are going to be pretty good. That positive outlook doesn't mean you won't need to put your best foot forward, however. Take some time to plan out how you'll get trained, how you'll pay for it and where you might want to work.
